Appearance continues to change for a year after surgery: swelling goes down, scars fade, and tissues settle into place. Many details that seem bothersome early on resolve on their own.
Every additional procedure creates a risk of fistula or stricture in a channel that is currently working fine. This trade-off should be discussed openly before any decision is made.
